Giacomo Montagna, MD, MPH is an Assistant Attending on the Department of Breast Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in NYC. He completed his residency and a fellowship in oncoplastic breast surgery at the University Hospital of Basel, Switzerland. Following residency, he obtained a Master in Public Health at the Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health and completed a research and a clinical fellowship at the Breast Service at MSKCC. Dr. Montagna’s clinical practice is dedicated to the surgical treatment of breast diseases, particularly breast cancer with a focus on oncoplastic breast surgery. His areas of research include de-escalation of axillary surgery after neoadjuvant systemic therapy and the treatment of rare breast cancer subtypes, such as metaplastic tumors. Dr. Montagna has authored and co-authored more than 60 scientific publications and several book chapters.
